You'll learn alongside our experienced hand therapists, with structured training, hands-on learning and plenty of opportunities to observe, ask questions and develop your skills.

What can you expect?
Our structured in-house training program will introduce you to the core knowledge and skills required for hand therapy, including:

Assessment of the hand, wrist, elbow and upper limb
-
Fabrication of splints/orthotics
-
Clinical reasoning and treatment planning
-
Exercise prescription and rehabilitation
-
Wound and scar management
-
Treatment modalities including ultrasound and laser
-
Understanding surgical procedures and their implications for rehabilitation
-
Patient education and self-management
You'll progressively build your skills and clinical independence as your knowledge and confidence grows.
You will work with clients of all ages, affected by:

Sports injuries
-
Workplace injuries
-
Over-use conditions
-
Fractures and dislocations
-
Nerve compressions
-
Tendon and ligament injuries
-
Arthritis and other chronic conditions
-
Neurological conditions such cerebral palsy, CVA, MND, MS
-
Hypermobility
You will also work alongside visiting hand surgeons, providing post operative rehabilitation to clients
with the above conditions.
