Jamison Macdonald

Jamison graduated from the Australian Catholic University (ACU) in 2018.  He developed a keen interest in hand therapy whilst completing two of his final year clinical placements at Bayside Hand Therapy, before joining our team in 2019.  Five years on Jamison is completing the final steps towards becoming an accredited hand therapist.  Jamison strives to help his patients understand their injury with his collaborative approach to treatment.

​

He has a special interest in the treatment of sports injuries and post-operative rehabilitation of the hand and upper limb.  He is actively involved in staff development and supervising occupational therapy students.  His open and friendly manner makes him popular with clients of all ages.  Jamison is a Bayside local who enjoys exercise, camping and Rugby League.

Lincoln James

After graduating from the Australian Catholic University with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, Lincoln began his hand therapy career working at the Cairns Hand Clinic where he enjoyed treating a wide range of hand injuries and conditions. Lincoln is currently an associate member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association and is in the final stages of becoming an accredited hand therapist.

​

Having studied clarinet at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music before commencing his occupational therapy degree, Lincoln has a special interest in the treatment of musician's hand problems.  Lincoln's gentle manner and sense of humour, make him a popular therapist with men, women and children.

​

In his spare time, you will find Lincoln competing in local park runs, running marathon's, playing squash and fishing.

Aaron Pycroft

Aaron graduated from the Australian Catholic University (ACU) with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy.  He developed a passion for hand therapy during his final year of occupational therapy studies while completing clinical placement at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.  Aaron is an associate member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association.  He is currently working towards becoming a fully accredited hand therapist.

​

Aaron enjoys going the extra mile to help ensure his patients return to their pre-injury activities whether that be work, sport or hobbies. Having played volleyball at a high level, and a keen triathlete, Aaron has a special interest in treating sports injuries and overuse conditions of the hand, wrist and elbow.

Melissa James

Melissa James
Principal Hand Therapist

Melissa brings over 30 years of experience in hand therapy, combining extensive clinical expertise with a strong commitment to education and professional leadership. She graduated with honours from the University of Queensland in 1991 and gained broad experience working in both public and private hospital settings before founding Bayside Hand Therapy in 2009.
 

Melissa has lectured to undergraduate and postgraduate occupational therapy students at the University of Queensland and has played a key role in training generations of hand therapists. For more than 17 years, she served as a course presenter for the Australian Hand Therapy Association, specialising in the fabrication of custom orthotics. She has also lectured extensively to therapists throughout regional Queensland and presented at state and national conferences.
 

Melissa particularly enjoys the challenge of diagnosing complex or unusual conditions and is deeply committed to the ongoing training, mentorship, and professional development of every member of the Bayside Hand Therapy team—ensuring patients receive the highest standard of care.

Donna Cox
Administration

Donna joined our team in 2020. She is the superwoman who keeps the practice running smoothly and efficiently.  Donna loves interacting with people and her warm and gentle nature ensures all our patients feel at ease from the moment they arrive.   Outside of work Donna enjoys yoga and crochet and her 2  boys keep her busy on weekends.

Donna joined the Bayside team in 2025.  With over 20 years experience in admin and customer service.  Donna is here to help you in any way she can, so please reach out to her.​
